Care Guide

DTF Transfer Washing Instructions

Follow these simple guidelines to keep your DTF transfers looking vibrant and lasting for years

Before First Wash

  • Wait 24 hours: Allow the transfer to fully cure before washing. This ensures maximum adhesion and durability.
  • Turn inside out: Always turn garments inside out before washing to protect the design.

🧼 How to Wash

  • Cold water: Wash in cold water (max 30°C / 86°F) to preserve colors and prevent cracking.
  • Gentle cycle: Use gentle or delicate cycle to reduce friction and stress on the design.
  • Mild detergent: Use mild, liquid detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or fabric softeners.
  • Wash with similar items: Avoid washing with rough fabrics, zippers, or velcro that can snag or abrade the transfer.
⚠️ Do NOT Use:

Bleach, fabric softener, harsh detergents, or stain removers. These can break down the adhesive and fade the colors.

☀️ Drying Instructions

  • Tumble dry low: Use low heat setting in dryer, or hang dry for best results.
  • Remove promptly: Take out of dryer while still slightly damp and lay flat or hang to finish air drying.
  • Avoid high heat: Do not use high heat settings as this can damage the transfer adhesive and cause cracking.
⚠️ Avoid:

Do not dry clean. The chemicals used in dry cleaning can dissolve the transfer adhesive.

🔥 Ironing & Touching Up

  • Iron inside out: If ironing is necessary, always iron inside out to avoid direct heat on the transfer.
  • Use low heat: Set iron to low or synthetic fabric setting.
  • Use a pressing cloth: Place a thin cloth or parchment paper between iron and garment for extra protection.
  • Never iron directly: Do not apply iron directly on the DTF transfer design.

💡 Pro Tips for Longevity

  • Wash less frequently - DTF transfers can withstand spot cleaning with a damp cloth for minor marks.
  • Store garments folded or hung - avoid storing in direct sunlight to prevent fading.
  • If edges lift slightly after many washes, you can re-press with low heat and a protective sheet to re-adhere.
💎 Expected Lifespan:

With proper care, DTF transfers can last 50+ washes while maintaining vibrant colors and sharp details. Following these guidelines ensures maximum durability and longevity.
